Sands of Fortune Slot Machine
Move over Lara Croft and Indiana Jones, we’re about to become the new adventurers of the century and it’s all thanks to the creation of Sands of Fortune.
So many of us have wanted to explore Ancient Egypt, so much so that we’ve travelled on our holidays, exploring the contemporary terrain, hoping beyond hope that we’ll discover some hidden treasure or secret tomb (please say that isn’t just us?). Often we find nothing and are left longing for something more...
Well pack up your pistols and get your whips as we’re about to go exploring! There is lots of excitement and dark challenges waiting for you, and you don’t even have to wear the classic thorn coloured outfit with matching hat to get through these trials, though we’d recommend it as you’ll look fabulous. Nobody will judge you.
There is quite a lot to this slot machine, despite its compact 5-reels 9 paylines layout, so why not brush up on some need to know tips so that you don’t end up trapped inside a pyramid with an angry mummy coming after you.
Sandy Toes
Not even the dreaded socks and sandals combo will be able to save you from the perils of sandy feet as you descend into this well kept tomb, covered in well-maintained hieroglyphics despite its age. In the left hand corner you have the title of the game that helps cement that 80s tomb raider theme.
A total of 10 icons are waiting to be dug up and dusted off, and it’ll please many of you to know that only three of them appear generic, with the rest personalised to maintain the archaeology aesthetic of the title. These three icons are the A, K and Q, placed upon a grey background with Egyptian carving. What makes them different from the vast majority of slot machines is that, instead of being the lowest value icons, they’re among the highest. The A tile along will give 2,000 credits when five are found.
If there was ever a reason to not like scorpions (as if there wasn’t enough already), you now have the fact that they add up to a grand total of 9 credits… yup, that’s all! That whopping amount that means you can retire and become a billionaire. All joking aside, while it is a very low amount, it is better than some prizes you can come across in other activities.
Even though there is the jackpot and wild symbol, the bonus is the one you’ll want to find if you’re looking to mix the game up a little and experience another side to adventuring. When this happens you come to three corridors and it falls to you to make the right choice - if you choose the right one you’ll continue on, pick wrong and it all ends. Luckily though the money you win isn’t lost, which is always a plus.
Plane Tickets
And by plane tickets we mean betting costs, which is essentially the same thing… users can choose to stake between 0.01 and 10.00 across as many paylines as they’d like, though 9 is the recommended number. Setting these amounts is easy thanks to the well-crafted control panel that puts usability above all else.
The four buttons you need to get everything started are at the bottom of the screen, while the amounts you’re playing with and your current totals are listed at the top, with an extra options toggle to hand.
Should you ever forget the amount each icon rewards you, there is the Paytables widget to the left, which will give you the value for finding three, four and five of the every icon. What is more, it also describes, although very briefly, what the special symbols in the game do. It isn’t the most detailed of information but rather acts as a refresher.
Will I Find My Fortune?
Nothing is ever set in stone, but there is a great chance you’ll find a big pile of gold for you to take back home and reveal to the world, showing everyone what a successful explorer you are. The look and feel of the slot machine could be improved if we were to seriously nit-pick, but it doesn’t affect the game in any way, so it’s more a wishlist for improvements rather than a dealbreaker.
