Gold N Gems II Slots

If you've always wanted to strike gold but didn't want to sign up for a miner's job, the Gold N Gems II video slot is here to help you. An unusual online slot game that gives you the option to switch between a 5-reel mode and 1-reel operation, the Gold N Gems II is not like every other product on the market. This mobile-optimised slot machine is powered by Parlay Games but it was developed in cooperation with the game team from Concept Gaming and as such, it can be found listed under both game providers and offered in casinos that have games from either of the companies.

The theme of the game is mining, or mining for gold and gems, that is. The screen was designed to replicate the insides of a gold mine, with the reels representing wooden scaffolding built to provide an entrance to the deep sections of the mine. The game's pay table features exactly what you would expect from a mining-themed game - symbols of gold, bronze, and silver bars, oil lamps, and big BONUS symbols made out of gold. As you play along, you'll hear sounds of mechanical reels spinning which interrupt a soft steel-drum audio track that plays on a loop when you're resting your finger.

Hiding inside the stone confines of the mine are a number of bonus games, including 3 types of free spins bonus rounds that let you play without spending money as well as multi-level cash games that offer bonus payouts without any hassle. And if that's not enough to convince you to enter the mine, this unique slot machine will also give you a progressive jackpot that you can win during any spin.

Grab That Pickaxe and Start Digging!

The Gold N Gems II only lets you choose a total bet size which is always calculated by taking the number of fixed paylines (20) and multiplying it by your payline bet. The minimum bet is 0.20 credits, or 0.01 per payline, while the maximum bet is 25 credits or 1.25 per payline. The payouts in the pay table always display the correct return you can get when wagering a specific amount per spin.

Like its predecessor, the Gold N Gems, the Gold N Gems II gives you an option to play in 3 different modes. The first is a 5-reel mode that allows you to play with 5 reels, 3 rows of symbols, and 20 paylines. The second and third modes, on the other hand, allow you to play with 1 reel. In mode "A", you can play with only 1 reel and 1 symbol per spin. This symbol can either be a paying symbol or a losing symbol. In Mode "B", however, you will be playing with 3 rows of symbols, some of which can be full of losing symbols. This mode is basically a 3-reels mode since you can have winning combinations with up to 3 symbols but the slot nevertheless calls it a 1-reel mode.

The best returns in the game are given by the gold bars, which pay 750x your payline bet for 3 of the symbols and up to 5,000x your line bet when you collect 5. After the gold bar, the second best payouts are given by the silver and bronze bars, which pay 100-1,000x and 40-200x your line bet. And at the bottom, you can find the 3 oil lamps which pay the minimum payouts. The payout values are always the same, no matter what mode you use, with the difference being that in 1-reel mode the number of symbols needed to trigger a payout is 1, 2, and 3.

Unlike the first instalment, the bonus games in the Gold N Gems II aren’t won through a progress bar but by collecting 3 or 5 bonus symbols, depending on whether you play with 1 reel or 5. The bonus segment is called the Bonus Wheel and it can be spun to win 6 different rewards: 3 free spins rounds and 3 Gold Rush cash games. Each game is available in a regular, Super, and Mega format.

Namely, the regular free spins round only comes with a special pay table and regular wild symbols. The Super Free Spins have a more rewarding pay table as well as wild symbols that multiply wins by 2x or 4x. And the Mega Free Spins have an even better pay table and wilds that add 3x and 8x multipliers to your winnings. The Gold Rush cash games also offer better rewards if you play the Super and Mega games and they will all have you accept/decline prize offers to win a big payout or a smaller reward.

If all else fails, the Gold N Gems II still has a jackpot prize that increases progressively as more rounds are played. The jackpot pot is filled with 1% of every bet made and it can be won randomly. If you want to increase your chances of collecting the prize, you will need to bet more money.

What Does It Take to Hit the Mother Lode?

Most online slot machines can often be sampled for free through a casino online. However, if you want to actually make some money from the Gold N Gems II, you will need to play it for real cash. To play for real money, you only need to create an account with a casino that has slots from Parlay Games/Concept Gaming and top up your balance. However, if you're completely new to playing online casino games, you might want to first read through our page on real money slots to have a better idea of what to expect before playing.

If you are a novice player, or just want to take a closer look at the game for free, most casinos that offer the slot machine will also give you an option to play a demo version of the game. The game demos are usually offered to any registered player, even without any prior deposits, and they can be played for as long as you need them. Even here on our website, you can find a free Gold N Gems II slot that is available any time of the day, along with other top slots from almost any software provider you can find online.

A Worthy Sequel

The Gold N Gems II is in many ways similar to the original Gold N Gems slot. Like the first game, this slot features 6 types of bonus rounds (regular, Mega, and Super) but also a progressive jackpot prize and a switch that lets you change between 1-reel and 5-reel modes.

In fact, the biggest difference between both games is that the first slot also allows you to collect points and fill up "trails" to win your way to a bonus game, giving you more ways to earn rewards. Thus, the Gold N Gems II is more like the Fruit Loot Reboot slot from Concept Gaming which has the same bonus features and no "trails", as well as a Hawaiian theme that makes it look more "tropical".

Is It Worth Playing?

In short, the Gold N Gems II isn't the most intuitive of games or the most rewarding, but it does have the capacity to pay well. The slot has an RTP of 96.17% and a maximum base game payout of 100,000x. When you add its bonuses, progressive jackpot, and the option to bet really small on top of its fair payouts and return rate, you get a slot that can cater to both low-limit players looking for value as well as punters with bigger pockets that want a shot at winning large cash-outs.
