Theme
The transparent electric reels on the Wild Neon slot form a 5x3 grid over a stunning futuristic backdrop. Sheer metallic walls of some unknown starlit city stretch out down a road in front of you. Perhaps this is what the Las Vegas strip will look like in times to come. Various entertainment places from Good Guy Charlie’s jazz club to Winston’s Winery are open along each side. All the Push Gaming slots are pretty to look at but it does have to be said that this one really is special.
What’s slightly strange is the choice of icons on the new game, they still look amazing as they are rendered creatively out of an LED like light structure. It’s all very reminiscent of Tron actually. What makes them jar a little, is that they are all classic fruit machine icons. It’s very retro, normally something that comes off poorly, but on this slot, works extremely well.
Features
You can expect Wild Neon to be very streaky indeed, this game is likely to offer some great nights of adventure and some others that you might want to forget. All this happens thanks to the bonus feature mechanics which offer some massive potential rewards. The flip side of that of course, is that to pay for it there will be some cold stretches of play.
First up is the Linking Wilds mechanic, any time you land two or more wilds on the screen all the symbols on the pay-line in between will turn wild! This is an incredibly rewarding feature which provides unbelievable win potential. Chasing down multiples wilds is usually a fierce disappointment, on Wild Neon, the game actually does it for you!
The linking wilds alone would be enough to satisfy even ardent gambling fans but, Wild Neon doesn’t stop there. Three or more scatters open up a unique free spins bonus feature which you build up via an instant scratch style selection screen at game start. You get several picks where you can open mystery panels to reveal number of spins, win multiplier, extra symbols which will be wild and even instant credit prizes. The spins are limited to 10 with no re-trigger, but that’s hardly surprising given the high wins which are possible.
Summary
Push Gaming bring out very few slots. The one’s that they do are excellent, perhaps because they spend so much time making each game so unique. From Golden Farm to Star Fall, we’ve loved every game they have given us and Wild Neon is no exception. Yes, it’s one of their riskier titles and lends itself very much to real cash gaming. However, it still has more than enough entertainment to function as a free play slot and on mobile its simply superb.
