The Not So Serious Plight of the Wild Gecko
It seems as if a fire has broken out in wild gecko country and has made the geckos go even crazier than usual. The symbols that occupy the reels are somewhat random in relation to the theme, but what really is the theme anyway? A Cactus, a Bell, a Bag of Cash, Cherries, a Brick Oven scatter, the Geckos Gone Wild Logo, and two separate Wild Gecko symbols make up the main symbols, along with A, K, Q, J, 10, which are symbols that are usually found in games like Double Bonus video poker.
Features
The two Wild Gecko symbols (Red and Blue) substitutes all other symbols on the reels except the scatter and pay out 5,000 credits when 5 of same wild symbols appear on the reels. The only difference between the two wild symbols is that the Red Wild Gecko is the jackpot icon and pays 50,000 credits when 5 come together on a max credit per line bet. The fiery Brick Oven represents the scatter. Three or more scatter signs will result in a scatter pay, up to 40 credits when 5 scatter signs fall on the reels within the same spin. The scatter also triggers the free game feature when just 2 fall on the reels. All symbols in a winning combination beautifully animate as winnings are added to your account.
Free Game Bonus Feature
Geckos Gone Wild features a Free Games bonus that will automatically trigger when 2 or more scatter signs land on the reels. Two scatters will pay 5 free games; 3 scatters will provide 10 free games; 4 scatter icons will yield 20 free games; and 5 scatters will award the maximum amount of free games allowable, 60 free games. All winnings incurred during the Free Games feature will be doubled by a 2X multiplier. You can retrigger more free games by getting more scatter symbols, but you cannot win the jackpot during the Free Games feature.
Limits
Betting limits are adjusted within the Menu tab located at the bottom left hand corner of the reels and under the Settings option. Here you can adjust the credit value from 0.01 up to 1.00. Credits per line range from 1 to 10, making for a maximum bet per line equal to 20, and a maximum total bet per spin valued at 200 credits. Once you set your credit value, you can adjust your total bet from the main gaming screen. To be eligible for the 50,000-credit top jackpot, keep in mind that you must maximize your bet per line, otherwise a 5,000-credit jackpot will be paid should you land 5 Red Wild Geckos.
Bottom Line: I Won’t Remember this Slot Next Week
There is nothing really too spectacular about Cadillac Jack’s Geckos Gone Wild video slot. In fact, it isn't even a mobile-friendly slot and it is very similar in format and payout structure to Double the Devil. Both are simple, straightforward slot games with the best feature being the free games bonus. Geckos Gone Wild does offer up to 60 free games, which is a lot for Cadillac Jack, so there’s one positive, but otherwise, it just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense in terms of the whole wild gecko premise. Perhaps an actual gecko parody of the Girls Gone Wild video series for which this slot’s name was fashioned after would have made for a more entertaining game.
