PAGCOR reported a 49.9% profit decrease to P777.4 million for the first quarter of the year, well below its initial target. Profits for Q2 are expected to decrease further, since land-based gambling operations have yet to reopen and resume operations. 

It will be impossible to properly forecast the future of the market here until all casinos and land-based gambling establishments have reopened. PAGCOR hasn’t met the targets it had set out for Q1 in 2020, and fifteen online gambling operators have pulled out of the market in the same year.
