Beach Bar Slot Machine
Saucy, suggestive, and distinctly void of booze. Depending on what you’re looking for in a bar by the side of a beautiful tropical stretch of sand, then, you might want to keep looking. Or not.
Beach Bar is a 5-reel, 21-payline gambler from GameScale that could be accused of false advertising, if the real reason this game actually existed wasn’t to let people win money. From the moment the screen loads up you realise this is going to be more Spring Break in Cancun than Sandals on the west coast of Barbados, what with all the scantily clad women licking their ice lollies and what not.
Still, it never pays to be a prude, and in actual fact the graphics are pretty appealing- nothing to do with the bikinis, of course. Style on a kind of Manga-type aesthetic, you could be forgiven for thinking these were stills from the cutscene of some PlayStation game from Japan such is the level of detail that has gone into the drawings, which is always a positive considering how lazy some artists are when it comes to developing online slot machines.
All Inclusive
So then, the idea of the game is to match up like-pictures, in this case pretty girls, in combinations – some you will win for matching a pair or more, some you have to match a minimum of three. Some of the girls are holding suncream – very responsible – others are quietly sipping on the straw of a cocktail glass. Others are just sitting on the beach. Each of the different ladies corresponds to a different value of winning, although it’s not quite as simple as that.
Trunks on, Tops off
Before you start trying to chat up females at the bar that doesn’t actually exist, despite the game being called Beach Bar, it’s best to learn the ropes, and how to play the game itself. First up, adjusting the amount of money you want to put in.
As logic would suggest, the value of cash you’re putting down to begin with has a bearing on the riches you’re likely to pick up in the end. The higher, the higher, if that makes sense. The controls to alter this are at the bottom of the screen, increase or decrease the Bet Line value to put more or less money down.
You can also introduce, or remove, paylines. If you land a winning combination, it’s only actually valid as a win if it occurs on a payline that’s in play. So, the more paylines you have in play the more individual opportunities there are to win. However, this will not mean you actually win more money when you win.
Be warned, though, things can get pricey at the top end here. If you go for a maximum value of bet, and the maximum number of paylines, you’re looking at €42 a pop. Now that’s what we call a fast track to cashing out early – as such it’s best to hedge your bets and stay in the game for longer.
Don’t Drink and Swim
Thankfully, with so few references to anything remotely quaffable, there’s no risk of drowning whilst playing Beach Bar. That said, you might sink more cash that necessary if you aren’t familiar with the special pictures that will crop up from time to time, and can change everything when they do.
First up is the Scatter. These trigger a different number of free spins when you land three or more, with that number depending on how many you manage to bag. Obviously, free spins means more chances to win without spending any more money, so that’s clearly a very, very good thing. Next we have the Bonus, which features two women in an innocent-not-innocent-tableau. Get five of these and you’re in for a treat, let’s put it like that.
Finally, the Wild, which is an athletically built woman in red swimsuit with life-preserving water ring. Basically, land between two and five of her the payout can be huge.
Let’s Go to the Beach, Beach!
Beach Bar might be a total misdirection of a title- we would have expected all the girls to be carrying drinks, if not some pictures of barmen and complex cocktails- but the game is actually top fun, and definitely wants to keep you playing.
The graphics are great, although some might say rather misogynistic, and the feel of the thing very polished – it’s definitely worthy of spending some time on.
