The Godfather Capos & Foes Slot

Are you ready for an offer you can't refuse? Discover more about Gamesys's new online slot with our review of The Godfather Capos & Foes.

The Godfather Capos & Foes video slot is the sequel to Gamesys's The Godfather. There are better graphics, bigger bonus features, and even sweeter jackpots. Let's hope there's no horse's head waiting for us as we spin the reels.

Gamesys is no stranger to a branded gambling slot, of course. The online casino developer already has video slots based on game shows (Million Dollar Money Drop) and board games (MONOPOLY Paradise Mansion) in its arsenal.

But how does this sequel compare to Gamesys's other online and tablet games? Let's pay our respects with The Godfather Capos & Foes online slot review.

Play Five Reels From Just 0.01 a Coin

Like the original The Godfather slot, this new release from Gamesys plays on a set of 5 reels. Coins can be adjusted via the bet size button at the foot of the screen. Bets range from 0.01 a coin up to 8.00 for a max bet of 200.00 per spin.

In fact, Gamesys have kept a lot of the unnecessary buttons and functions out of the way of the reels. That's perfect for the tablet players this game is clearly aimed at.

There are 25 paylines to hit in the free The Godfather Capos & Foes slot machine. All are fixed during gameplay. What we like most from The Godfather Capos & Foes slot review is the attention to detail.

The Godfather's Sicilian-style villa is displayed in the background as we hear birds tweeting overhead. Occasionally, a church bell rings out. The player really has been transported to Sicily with this online slot. And when you adjust your coin size, there's the sound of a gangster clicking his fingers. It all adds to the atmosphere of a great gangster-themed slot.

Win up to 250 Coins With a Barzini Jackpot

Francis Ford Coppola's 1972 epic, The Godfather, is rightly placed #1 in the all-time movie list by critics year after year. It tells the tale of an ageing Mafia crime boss who is trying to retire and pass his business on to his youngest son.

The Godfather won multiple Oscars when it was released and spawned two sequels. The film has also been made into video games and video slots.

There are two sets of icons in the game, one for the 'capos' and one set for the 'foes'. The base game gets the capos, the trusted under-bosses of Don Vito Corleone. Don Corleone, portrayed by Marlon Brando in the movie, is the jackpot symbol and pays a top real cash prize worth 2,000 coins. Next come the capos, Clemenza and Tessio. Clemenza pays 40-1000 coins and Tessio 30-750.

The low-paying symbols are the shotgun (20-400 coins), pile of cash (15-300 coins), oranges (10-200 coins), whiskey (5-100 coins), olive oil jar (5-100 coins), and shotgun belt (5-100 coins).

Look out for the red rose wild. This will replace all regular symbols in the game except the scatters. Wild symbols that help form a winning combination will pay anything from 50 to 250 coins for three to five of a kind.

During any base game spin, you might get a Capo Spin. During this unique bonus, the three characters can become scatters. You will win a special cash prize for these newly-made scatters. It is possible to earn 5000 coins with five Don Corleones.

Activate Free Spins with Wild Reels and Multipliers

If you like Gamesys video slots, you'll know that the developer likes to include a free spins bonus in its games. The Godfather Capos & Foes video slot is no different.

Three or more game logo scatters trigger the free spins round. The player then gets to pick a unique feature. The wild reel bonus displays Michael Corleone's hitman, Al Neri. Al will shoot 1-5 reels and turn them into stacked wilds for the duration of five free spins.

Random wilds can be picked for seven free spins. 1-10 wilds will be shot on to random symbols at the end of a free spin. Finally, you can pick 10 free spins with a revolver cylinder. At random, the revolver will reward you with 1-3 extra spins or a multiplier worth 3x, 5x, or 10x.

Many of the "foes" from The Godfather are in play for the bonus round. Crooked police chief, McCluskey, is one of the high-paying symbols (25-100 coins), alongside Bruno Tattaglia (25-100 coins) and the scheming gangster, Barzini. Barzini is the jackpot symbol, paying 50-250 coins for three to five of a kind.

The low-paying symbols are all icons from the movie. The gun used by Michael Corleone to kill McCluskey pays 10-50 coins, and the classic plate of pasta pays the same. The "Sicilian message", two fish wrapped in brown paper denoting a murder, also pays 10-50 coins.

The spilt wine symbol pays 5-25 coins, and the can of olive oil awards 5-25 coins. Gamblers can win 5-25 coins for the final symbol too, a newspaper telling the story of McCluskey's murder.

During the free spins feature, the wilds will replace all symbols in the game, even the scatters.

Hunt Out the Original The Godfather Slot Online

Let's continue our Godfather Caps & Foes online slot review with a look at the original game in the series.

Gamesys's The Godfather slot takes many of the iconic images from the 1972 classic and puts them on the reels. Players get to see wedding cakes, trigger a family wedding feature, and win money through progressive multipliers. And yes, there's even a horse's head. In this online slot, the horse's head becomes the wild symbol.

You can win unlimited free spins in the game's main bonus. For every consecutive winning spin you hit, you will move up a tier of the wedding cake. This celebrates the iconic wedding scene from the start of The Godfather movie.

In the Family bonus feature, you must line up symbols featuring Don Corleone, Philip Tattaglia, and henchman Luca Brasi at the same time. Unite those characters and you are looking at a win fit for a true Mafioso.

Be a Friend to The Godfather and Win the Jackpot

You will find plenty of movie-themed games in our list of the best online slots. With big branded tie-ins, players can usually expect to find authentic images, good payouts, and lots of bonuses. In our The Godfather Capos & Foes review we found all those things, and a lot more.

The Godfather Capos & Foes slot is certainly volatile, but it has atmosphere and slick gameplay. We would have liked to have seen some actual footage from the original movie, but rendered drawings are the next best thing. Play for free and see if you are ready to be a friend to Don Corleone.
