Dolly Online Slot Review
Dolly Parton is the queen of country, known for hits such as ‘Nine to Five’, ‘Jolene’ and ‘Islands in the Stream’. She was inducted into the Country Music hall of fame in 1999 and famously played the Legends slot at the Glastonbury Festival in 2014 in front of a crowd of over 100,000. Dolly Parton is also the godmother of a certain Miley Cyrus. However, all of this pales into insignificance in comparison to her latest achievement – being the subject of a slot!
The moment you enter this slot you are met with Bling! The sparkling purple background with stars sparkling and musical notes swirling set the backdrop to this VERY pink slot. The slot looks very polished with well-drawn symbols relating to Dolly, including a guitar, her signature, red lips, a guitar and a microphone. Dolly herself also features on the slot as a wild, expanding when appearing to fill up an entire reel. Country fans will love the sound options at this slot – a player allowing you to choose one of seven songs by the lady herself to accompany the game (you’ll also be able to shuffle these songs).
The slot has several features, including randomly awarded extra added wilds and three different bonus features activated by the scatter symbol.
Set up and Play for Dolly Slot
This slot has 5 reels with 3 symbols on each, something of a standard for many slots. You’ll find 40 win lines when playing Dolly and these are set, so you’ll not be able to play less. You’ll win by landing three consecutive symbols from left to right on a win line starting with the leftmost reel.
The Dolly wild symbol substitutes for any other symbols (apart from the scatter symbol) and will expand to fill an entire reel if it means a win is gained. This symbol is the joint highest paying in the game with Dolly’s signature, each paying 500x should you land 5 in a row. The microphone, the guitar and the red lips pay out 400x, 300x and 200x respectively for 5. These symbols are joined by the playing card characters from 9 to Ace.
This slot has an auto play feature where you can set the slot to play automatically for between 10 and 150 spins, as you sit back and sing along to ‘Jolene’.
As well as the ‘Dolly’ wild you also find a randomly added ‘Butterfly’ bonus (after the title of the song) which will see butterflies fly over the slot and land on reels 4 and 5 making for additional wilds.
The scatter symbol is the bonus ‘gold disc’ which will activate the ‘Wheel of Wealth’ bonus which will see you head to one of three different bonus features.
Dolly Slot Bonus Features
There are three different features which can be activated from the ‘Wheel of Wealth’.
The first of these is the ‘9 to 5 Free Spins bonus’. You’ll start with an initial 8 free spins but you’ll pick a clock which reveals a number of extra spins. During this round any wild symbols will become sticky, meaning they will stay in place throughout the entire round, making the round potentially more profitable as it progresses.
The ‘Heartbreak Express’ bonus is a pick-em round where you’ll pick a suitcase to reveal a cash prize. You’ll continue in this round until you reveal the ‘collect’ suitcase, at which point the round will end and you’ll collect up all of your prizes.
The final feature round is the ‘Dolly’s Albums’ round. Here you’ll win instant prizes when clicking on any of 19 albums featured in the slot.
Dolly Slot – Conclusion
Having played this slot you’ll come to one of two conclusions – you’ll either love it or hate it. Fans of Dolly herself, or people with an affinity for a little country music twang will like the slot, the music is an appealing additional feature for a slot with quite a lot already going for it. Non Dolly/ country/ bling fans might not be quite as enamoured as there is no avoiding the theme at all.
If you do take away the theme and look at what the slot offers, it’s actually very good, the mix of features working well and giving the slot a good deal of variety. Check this one out, if only to see something completely different to the standard slots on offer.
