Crackin’ Eggs Slots
In Crackin’ Eggs, the 5-reel video slot from Mobilots, you’re not so much concerned with cracking the eggs as finding them – after all, they grant the highest sums on the pay-table! The eggs in this eggs-traordinary Easter-themed game are filled not with cute toys but hard cash, and all wins are calculated from left to right with just a few exceptions.
The paylines in Crackin’ Eggs are unfixed, meaning that gamers are free to choose however many they wish to play. Indeed, they can choose to play on just a single line if they wish. The maximum, meanwhile, is 30.
An Easter Wonderland
Crackin’ Eggs is a cute little game that takes place on a transparent 5x3 grid, against the backdrop of a garden. Perhaps it’s time to roll some eggs?
Available to play on a range of devices, including iPhone, Android, iPad and PC, the slot features smiling bunnies, wide-eyed chicks and a number of Easter eggs wrapped in different coloured foil.
The look of the game is a little different to many five-reelers, in that the controls are hidden away in Settings and not ranged along the bottom of the screen. Apart from the reel grid, there are just a few buttons – one for Home and one for Settings. There is, however, a running balance total at the foot of the screen, alongside a reminder of your bet.
To configure your bet, just click on the gearwheel icon in the lower right-hand corner. You’ll be shown 30 numbers under the heading ‘Lines’: simply choose how many lines you want to play, then select a coin size between 0.20 and 1. An Autospin feature is available, permitting you to play five, ten, 15, 20 or 25 automatic spins. There’s also a button to turn off the sound, although the audio is fairly limited to the clicking reels. If this bothers you, toggle the switch to OFF.
As stated, all wins are paid from left to right except Free Spins and Bonus wins. Only the highest win is paid on each winning line, and wins are multiplied by the coin size bet. All game malfunctions void the game bets.
Rolling Eggs
There are 12 symbols in Crackin’ Eggs, including three special icons. Among the regular icons, there are playing card symbols (10, J, Q, K, A) in numerous guises. They’re easy to spot, with each symbol clad in a different style of retro wallpaper. The polka dot ace looks particularly groovy.
As you’d expect, the playing card icons represent the lower-value symbols on the board. The best-paying icons are the eggs, with the golden egg being the best. The golden egg (presumably laid by a golden goose) pays 20 for three, 100 for four and 500 for all five. The purple egg is next best (15/50/250), followed by the red and white spotted egg (10, 45, 175). The lowest-value egg is the one patterned in blue, white and green; it pays 10 for three, 45 for four and 150 for five.
Special Characters
While most of the symbols in Crackin’ Eggs yield pay-outs, there are three symbols with certain special properties. The splay-footed yellow chick, for instance, holds the key to the Bonus Game, where you can win a glut of cash prizes. All you need to do to play is find three or more chicks on the board, in any configuration.
The Free Spins bonus is represented by the white rabbit. Hit three for five spins, four for ten spins or five to win 20 spins. The scatter is not linked to any values in the pay-table, though.
Lastly, there’s a wild. Represented by a basket of Easter eggs, the wild can stand in for any symbol on the reels to complete a win. It cannot, however, replace the Free Spins or Bonus symbols.
Eggheads
There’s no getting around it: Crackin’ Eggs is a very simple slot aimed mostly at low rollers. That said, it’s hard to find complaint with a game featuring wilds, scatters and a bonus symbol.
Graphically, the title is not outstanding, although it’s not bad either – the symbols are certainly both fun and colourful, and the fact that the paylines are unfixed means players can opt to play on however many lines they desire.
If you’re looking for a cute new game to play, Crackin’ Eggs is one to watch out for – particular around Easter time.
