Official mobile betting partner
Fubo Gaming now has market access in Ohio after reaching a deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Through the agreement, its sportsbook has become the NBA franchise’s official mobile sports betting partner.
an owner-operated live television streaming subscription service
The partnership announced Tuesday will see Fubo Sportsbook become the first mobile sportsbook in Ohio to integrate into an owner-operated live television streaming subscription service — courtesy of mother brand FuboTV — when the state’s legal mobile betting market launches.
Fubo Sportsbook, the Chicago-based arm of FuboTV subsidiary Fubo Gaming, took to Twitter to announce the Cavaliers tie-up on Tuesday:
Building on a marketing partnership inked in October, the new agreement includes both digital and brick-and-mortar components. For the latter, a 3,000 sq. ft sports lounge will open inside the franchise’s Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in downtown Cleveland.
In a news release Tuesday, Fubo said that when its digital sportsbook launches in Ohio, it will offer Cavs fans “even more personalized and immersive game-day experiences.”
Ohio’s online betting market is expected to launch in the second half of 2022.
A multitool sportsbook
Once the market launches, FuboTV viewers in Ohio can choose from multiple live sporting events, with which the Fubo Sportsbook app will instantly integrate. The multitool sportsbook will give Ohioans the opportunity to view betting content and make synchronized wagers while they watch.
In Tuesday’s press release, Cavaliers and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse CEO Len Komoroski said the deal marked “an exciting evolution of our continued partnership with Fubo Gaming.”
Ahead of Fubo Sportsbook rolling out in Ohio, the Cavaliers and Fubo Gaming will continue to push their partnership via various marketing channels and assets. This includes an integrated marketing campaign featuring co-branded broadcast-visible signage, and a presence on Cavaliers television and radio game programming.
An attractive market
Fubo Gaming’s president Scott Butera is expecting big things from Ohio sports betting, calling the firm’s Cavs deal “a major step forward” for the brand.
streaming and wagering sports betting experience”
Butera believes Ohio’s sports-mad fans will get a kick out of Fubo’s “uniquely integrated streaming and wagering sports betting experience.” He also described the NBA franchise as a leader in sports innovation, with a proven track record of high-impact fan engagement.
The Cavs partnership “provides Fubo instant access to a highly attractive customer base,” Butera said.
Gaining access to Ohio gives Fubo Gaming its seventh active market, along with New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Indiana, Iowa, and Texas. The firm said it will roll out its Fubo Sportsbook in additional markets in the “coming months.”
