Open for business
Visitors to Chase Field in downtown Phoenix now have access to a retail version of Caesars Sportsbook. The betting brand opened its retail site on Tuesday, offering a direct option for betting near the main entrances of the Arizona Diamondbacks’ home stadium.
Caesars Sportsbook is now the largest free-standing betting outlet in Arizona, offering over 22,000 square feet of space spread across two stories.
the ballpark became the first location in Major League Baseball to allow its guests to place bets on-site
In-person betting is nothing new at Chase Field. Last September, when Arizona legalized sports betting, the ballpark became the first location in Major League Baseball to allow its guests to place bets on-site. Initially, sports fans had to use specific stadium ticket windows to place wagers.
Now, guests can utilize the former Game Seven Grill to wager. The Caesars Sportsbook offers nine betting windows along with self-service kiosks. Sports fans can also enjoy dining on-site via the DTPHX Kitchen + Bar by Guy Fieri.
The sportsbook offers seating on each level and a private space guests can rent during Diamondbacks games. Throughout the sportsbook, Caesars has added large flat-screen televisions for sports viewing.
Opening Ceremony
During the opening ceremony on Tuesday, several officials of the Diamondbacks were on hand, along with representatives of Caesars. Derrick Hall, the president and CEO of the Diamondbacks, and senior vice president of operations for Caesars Sportsbook David Grolman were in attendance.
According to Hall, the new Caesars Sportsbook will offer betting services every day of the week. From Sunday to Thursday, guests can access the sportsbook until 11pm. On Fridays and Saturdays, Caesars will remain open until 1am.
Caesars donated $20,000 to the Diamondbacks Foundation as part of the opening ceremony. The foundation supports homelessness, indigent healthcare, and children’s programs.
Arizona Cardinals prepping for new in-stadium sportsbook
Along with the Diamondbacks, the Arizona Cardinals are also ready to launch an on-site sportsbook. The NFL team is partnered with BetMGM and has plans to open a retail sportsbook this fall. Once operational, the facility will be the first of its kind inside an NFL stadium.
CEO of BetMGM Adam Greenblatt commented that its new deal with the Cardinals would enhance the gameday experience for fans. Titled BetMGM Sportsbook at State Farm Stadium, the sportsbook will offer premium services and be the first to provide retail wagering during a Super Bowl event.
State Farm Stadium is set to host Super Bowl LVII in February of next year. The event will mark yet another milestone in US sports betting as the stadium becomes the first to offer in-person wagering during one of the most popular annual betting events.
