Things get more interesting as you come across the sacred karma shards scattered over the reels. Legend has it that the Red Karma Shards are forged from the crystallised blood of fallen Yokai demons, but all you need to know is that finding three of these scatter symbols on reels 1, 2 and 3 will unlock special powers of combat. Blue Karma Crystals are a little bit harder to find, but they are well worth looking out for.
