Bar of the Dead
Bar of the Dead software by Betixon offers a unique game design to this online bingo game. Set in a bar which appears to be very Halloween-themed, we think this would be an interesting game to play on Halloween. This is an amusing game which is intended to be played on mobile phones, tablets or computers.
From the start of this game we are attracted to the beautiful and well-designed graphics of this exciting free Bar of the Dead game. We were interested in giving this game a go when we discovered that we can play for free or play for real money and there is no download needed. Unfortunately, this game did have many flaws which were very hard to overlook. If you’d like to learn more about this game, please continue reading this review.
The Loading Screen
Wow. This screen is amazing. We don’t believe we’ve ever seen anything like it. It is creative and amusing. The game title is displayed in the middle of the screen with a skull-shaped cookie in the middle with fun and interesting ‘icing’ on top. The title is carefully designed and is displayed using gradients of different shades of orange and blue.
In the background, we see fluorescent skeletons and light bulbs (which look similar to fairy lights) hung up to give quite an interesting effect. The background is a dark-coloured wall which looked very realistic. If this is the type of effect the company is ready to put into just the loading screen, we couldn’t wait to see what else was in store for us from this free Bar of the Dead game. Love at First Sight
It is hard not to fall in love with the game graphics of this game. Once we clicked on the skull cookie to start the game, we are presented with the bar which we would only assume to be the bar of the dead. The wall shown in the loading screen is seen behind a well-stocked bar. There is a beautiful bar attendant at the bar with face paint giving us a beautiful yet spooky feel.
At the bar, we can see that the designers went into quite some detail to ensure that they got the alcohol and drinks right. We can see many bottles of wines, champagnes and bourbons amongst other well-known drinks. In the front of the bar we can see many jars of candy. There are also hints of the Mexican culture through the choice of alcohol and the cactus tree and Mexican hat lights in the background.
The background music to this game is heavily Mexican influenced. We figured that this is a Mexican bar, given the hints of the Mexican culture and the Mexican themed music. In our honest opinion, this was not the best music for a game titled Bar of the Dead. We expected something a little less cheerful.
The Most Important Thing
The most important thing about this online game is that it should work. Unfortunately, it does not. We have tried Google Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Explorer to no success. We then attempted to run this game on our mobile phone which allowed us to click on the mute sound button and the auto button on screen. However, this still left us very disappointed because we could not do much of anything else. No matter how beautiful and creative this game is, if we cannot play it, it is useless.
On screen, we are presented with 4 bingo tickets and a round ball we can only presume was intended for the bingo balls to drop out from. We could not even access the information screens from the limited button functionality. We did figure out that the min bet is 0.01 for each ticket played but this is useless information if we cannot play the game.
We Can Compare Aesthetics
We found it difficult to find a game we can compare this beautiful Bar of the Dead game since the functionality does not work at all. This Bar of the Dead bingo game was extremely disappointing given the high quality of graphics and the very buggy functionality. A bingo game of almost the same aesthetic design quality would be Sherlock of London bingo game by Rabcat. However, given that the functionality of Sherlock of London works, we will always prefer Sherlock of London over a non-functioning bingo game and we are sure any player will agree with us.
Will We Play Again?
Technically we could not even play once. This free Bar of the Dead game does not work. We were very disappointed as the opening graphics and the graphics in game really set our standards high and we were not expecting this. We do hope that Betixon fixes this as soon as possible. If they do, this is definitely something we want to try out.
