Undergrowth Slots
Shrink yourself down to enter into the hidden world of the undergrowth and play with all kinds of tiny insects in this game of online video slots.
Undergrowth by Portomaso Gaming takes place in the cheerful, cartoon-like world where smiling bugs whizz around the reels for your chance to win cash prizes.
But will Undergrowth give you a new respect for tiny creatures or will you want to squash it like a bug? Here’s a review of Undergrowth by Portomaso Gaming including everything you need to know to play…
A Bug’s Life
Undergrowth is set in a world that most people never see; a hidden universe among the leaves, plants and trees where the smallest insects and creatures live.
In Undergrowth it truly is a bug’s life as you’ll shrink down to size to join them, giving you a unique insight into how the world looks when you’re a tiny insect.
The graphics are deliberately designed to be cartoon-like and the overall feel of the game is cheerful and fun. The bugs on the reels are smiley and welcoming, as well as full of character. After a few hours playing with these cheeky fellows you’ll never want to squash another bug again!
Some of the creatures you’ll discover on the reels include an ant, a beetle, spider, ladybug, praying mantis, wasp, firefly and centipede, to name but a few.
The background setting is also bright and vibrant with flowers and plant life completing your surroundings.
The soundtrack to the game complements the visual design, with eerie and unusual noises from nature ringing out every time you hit a win.
Reel Prizes
But although you’ll enjoy seeing the happy insect faces whirling round the reels, if you’re playing for cash you’ll need to see exactly what you could be winning.
Undergrowth is set out differently to a traditional slot and you’ll find the paytable on an entirely separate set of screens. These can be accessed via the Paytable button which can be found on the bottom left, below the reels.
The beetle takes the top position, offering a win of 250 if you match all five symbols. If you just match three you’ll win 35. The spider is the next biggest prize, offering wins of 200 and 30 respectively.
The prizes on offer in Undergrowth aren’t the biggest available, but these can be increased if you spin the special symbols.
The ladybug is the scatter symbol which not only hands you 10 free spins but also a multiplier of 2 on your winnings. And with three or more ants, you’ll activate the hidden bonus game which includes a potential prize of up to 1125.
There’s also a wild symbol which substitutes for other symbols on the reels, making it easier to spin a winning combination.
What Will You Risk?
Once you’ve explored the paytable and worked out what’s on offer, you’ll need to decide how much you want to bet per spin of the reels.
There are five reels to be spun on every turn and up to 25 paylines in play; this allows you the chance to adjust the number to the level that suits you.
The value of the coins can be set at between 0.01 and 0.2 and you can also choose how many to bet per line, with between 1 and 10 on offer.
Every line you play will be identical so don’t forget to multiply the value of each line by the number in play to get the total stake you’ll be betting per spin.
There are lots of different strategies depending on your attitude to risk. If you like to bet low, you can play for as little as 0.01 per spin but for the high rollers, the max bet can climb as high as 50. The more you bet, the more prizes you could win – but you could also lose more too.
If you want to have a little practice before you risk your own cash, you can play on the simulation mode first. This is fully functional so gives you the chance to get used to the game and how it plays before you switch to the live mode.
Insects Have All the Fun!
If this game is anything to go by, insects are a happy bunch with lots of fun to be had in the undergrowth! Although the graphics are appealing and gameplay is smooth, Undergrowth doesn’t offer the biggest prizes so may not be the right game for those who prefer to aim for big wins. There are lots of winning combinations and with the multipliers and bonuses, there are still decent payouts so for a fun play, it’s certainly worth a few spins.
