USSR 70’s Slots
Our USSR 70’s slot review breaks down this soviet-themed game that includes a bonus free spins round, a wide range of betting options and interesting graphics. Keep reading to find out all you need to know about this online slot and discover if it is the game for you.
Life in the Eastern Bloc during the seventies and Brezhnev’s rule inspired this EvoPlay slot. Portable radios, calculators, and retro cameras fill the reels while funky music entertains you as you play.
If the unusual graphics and music don’t grab your attention, the USSR 70’s slot does offer a choice of how to play its free spins round. Two types of free spins rounds are available in this online slot and sticky wild respins that can go on for dozens of spins.
However, other than these 2 features and the alternative theme, the USSR 70’s online slot doesn’t offer much else. Gameplay isn’t original and the novelty of the 70’s theme will wear off for many players.

Dear Comrade Brezhnev
As part of our review of USSR 70’s, we found the game has large betting limits, with stakes ranging from 0.15-450 credits per spin. This gives good flexibility and will suit both low limits players and those looking to take bigger risks.
This slot pays when you collect three or more identical symbols on a payline, starting with the first reel on the left. The pay table is split into three groups of symbols, two groups of high and mid-paying object symbols and a group of card symbols that offer the lowest returns.
The most valuable symbol is a black GAZ-24 Volga car which pays from 20x to 500x the payline stake. Second to the car is a TV symbol which pays 15x to 250x any line bet. These prized possessions are followed by a group of three mid-paying symbols, a camera, a portable radio, and calculator. These symbols pay prizes from 10x to 150x your line bet.
The wild symbols are postage stamps that feature Soviet leader Leonid Brezhnev and trigger bonuses during the game. Wilds help trigger wins by substituting for every other symbol other than the scatter but they also activate a free re-spin. During this respin, the Brezhnev wilds are sticky and stay on the screen, helping you collect more payouts. The respins will continue by default until no more new wins are activated.
In USSR 70’s, the scatter symbol is a cottage. The scatter pays out from 2x to 25x your total stake when three or more appear on the screen, regardless of their position on the reels. Landing three or more of the scatter symbols will also activate 10 free spins games which can be played in two different modes.
The first option in the free spins round is the sticky wild mode. In this mode, any of the Brezhnev wild symbols that trigger a win will remain in the same position for the rest of the round. The second option is the Multiplier Wild. If you make this choice, any wild symbols that trigger a win will also multiply your prizes by 2x or 4x. If two or three wild symbols appear at the same time; it will combine their multiplier values to increase your payout by more than 4x.

Sticky Wilds Everywhere
USSR 70’s isn’t a clone of other online slot games but you can spot that this is a product of EvoPlay. Prevalent in many of the studio’s slot machines are features like sticky wilds, respins, and free spins rounds with other bonus features. Thus, if you ever want to play something a tad different to USSR 70’s, you’ll be able to find a few good options.
Our review of USSR 70’s found that an interesting alternative is the beautiful Robin Hood video slot, also by EvoPlay. This online slot features 20 paylines instead of 15, has big betting limits, free spins with sticky wilds and a respin feature in standard gameplay.
Another great option for fans of EvoPlay is their Basketball online slot game. This video slot offers similar gameplay to Robin Hood but with a very different theme. Both Robin Hood and Basketball provide a close playing experience to USSR 70’s but offer more win lines to help you trigger payouts.
Party Like a Socialist
Overall, our USSR 70’s review discovered that beyond the strange theme this online slot offers, there isn’t a lot to get excited about. The slot allows you to stake a wide range of bet sizes and has three different bonuses but the gameplay is basic and can be found in lots of other online slot games.
The sticky wild symbols are the highlight and can help to secure payouts at a decent rate. There is a high RTP rate though and this will also be a concern for many players.
