Monte Carlo Millions Slots
Monte Carlo is the playground of the rich and famous, and now you could get your hands on some of the loot swimming around the ward thanks to an instant-play OpenBet video slot named Monte Carlo Millions. The 5-reel luxury casino game offers a massive top pay-out of 20,000 your line-stake. Considering the stakes go from 1.25 to 10, that’s a colossal 200,000 credits. Life-changing moolah, in other words.
Monte Carlo Millions combines pleasant music, high-flying symbols and solid animations in a game that is both fun to play and easy to get the hang of. It may only have 5 paylines, but because the wins are paid in all directions, the prospect of hitting some big prizes is a realistic one. In the immortal words of Chris Tarrant, are you ready to become a millionaire?
Money, Money, Money, Money
Monte Carlo Millions is not shy about showing you what might be in store if you scoop the jackpot. Above the 5x3 reel layout, for example, is an image of a white yacht, alongside a private island. To the right, the spire of one of Monte Carlo’s baroque buildings rises into the sky, and the logo appears in the centre. The word ‘Millions’, naturally enough, appears in gold.
The reels themselves are rather simple. There’s no backdrop to the grid, with each symbol occupying a blue border and the traditional control panel along the bottom. If anything, the grid is below average in terms of visual flair, though the symbols themselves are quite attractive. They include playing cards – Jack, Queen, King and Ace – plus six other icons related, in some way, to wealth. There’s a James Bond-esque figure in a white tux and black bowtie, a magnum of champagne sitting in an ice bucket, a silver Aston Martin roaring along a coastal road, a white luxury yacht and a Learjet. There’s also a spinning roulette wheel. The illustrated icons show the work of a talented artist; they’re not photorealistic, but they look terrific.
The Base Game
The aim, as ever, is to find matching combinations of three, four or five symbols. But because combinations can be forged from right to left, as well as left to right, the prospect of making wins is enhanced. Incidentally, players are free to choose whether they wish to play on one, two, three, four or five lines. The stake-per-line, as stated, goes from 0.25 to 10. At max bet then, you’ll be staking 50 per line. Many other slots offer a higher bet max, but on the whole, 50 seems like a decent limit.
As you might expect, the playing cards are the low-value symbols. The Jack pays just 1.5 for three, 5 for four or 15 for five, while the Queen pays 3 for three, 4 for ten and 50 for five. The pay-outs follow this pattern for the rest of the cards, with values doubling with each symbol: for example, the King pays 6 for three, 10 for four, 50 for five and so on.
Among the relevant themed icons, the Learjet is the most profitable. This one pays 100 for three in a line, 1,000 for four and the gargantuan 20,000 jackpot for five. Elsewhere, the yacht pays 5,000 for five, 250 for four and 60 for three. The motor car pays 30 for three, 100 for four and 1,000 for five, while the champagne bucket pays 15 for three, 75 for four and 500 for five.
Special Symbols
The Bond-esque figure is not related to the pay-table, but serves as a wild. Use him as a surrogate to help you make pay wins. The icon substitutes for all others in the game.
The second and last bonus icon is the spinning roulette wheel, which triggers the game’s lone special feature. In the mini-game, you’ll need to chase an ace card to win prizes. The prizes are: 5x, 25x, 100x and 250x. Guess correctly four times and you’ll be lining your pockets. As far as bonus features go, it’s not especially innovative, but you’re unlikely to care if you pocket 100x or 250x. Even 25x would be a nice windfall if your line-stake is high.
Mosey down to Monte Carlo
Monte Carlo Millions is a fine multi-line video slot from the OpenBet platform. While the bonus round could be more innovative, and the main screen lacks a bit of sparkle, the gameplay is entertaining and the pay-table generous. Give it a go.
