Magic Hot Slot Machine
Are you finding that you keep discovering visually exciting slot machines only to be disappointed when you play them, the lack of considerable rewards making it one to remember for all the wrong reasons? A lot of the games on offer nowadays do just that, they lure you in with shiny bauble baubles and then payout the bare minimum, but not Magic Hot.
Granted this Wazdan 3-reel slot machine doesn’t come under the aesthetically thrilling category, but it does herald extensive cash prizes, with the maximum win being x200 of your initial stake.
Nostalgia
Even though our games are advancing all the time, even casino favourites, there is still high demand for titles that recapture retro details that help us reconnect with our pasts - you only have to look at classic consoles being remade and sold to realise that demand for nostalgia is on the up.
Wazdan delivers the perfect retro vibe with a compact 3x3 matrix that’s surrounded by smoldering flames to really hammer home how smoking this title is. There are only nine symbols that will appear during your gameplay, none of which have any special effects other than bringing in the money. Lined with cherries, raspberries, bells and triple 7s, this game really turns on that old school charm.
The red hot 7s are the tiles that’ll help turn up the heat thanks to their 100 credits when you match up three of them on one of the activated paylines; this is the highest value symbol of the whole game, with all the others well below the hundred mark. For saying this is meant to be magical and hot, we’re not getting any sense of that just yet other than how authentic the theme is.
Although the graphics won’t move you profoundly, they have an illustrative quality similar to something you might find in a cartoon. This isn’t a criticism though as it’s quite nice to be presented with raw gameplay rather than a dressed up title that relies solely on its looks. Moreover the actual appearance is virtually identical to those you’d find in an offline casino, which helps you experience the casino scene without physically being there.
Turn up that Heat!
Before you get started you need to decide how many paylines you’d like to trigger – a lot of old school titles keep these fixed when they’re below a certain number, but in this case you can reduce the number down to just one if you so wish.
Next to this option there is the Autoplay feature that will activate all the reels to spin consecutively to save you the trouble of clicking the spin button. It may sound like a pointless option, but it definitely makes the gameplay a lot more fluid and fast, which means you’re less likely to get bored.
In the middle of the control panel is the spin widget, which requires no commentary - just select it and the activity springs into motion and the combos start showing up. There’s nothing else to it. You then have the Max Bet button, which is slightly more complicated than it looks, the reason being that it only sets your bet value and not the line amount.
Some slots will alter both to the max amounts if you opt for this, however Magic Hot only hikes up your stake, and that stake size is dependent on the number of paylines you have. If you only play with 1 your bet will be 100 credits, if it’s 2 it’ll be 50, 3 changes it to 30 coins, with 4 and 5 equalling only 20. This is arguably the hottest part of the game yet, and is the key to making that magic happen.
There are absolutely no special features or extras, so there is nothing else for you to do but watch the jackpot total increase in the left hand corner, and even that isn’t too high; at the moment of this playthrough it was little more than €18.00 which is lower than the smallest amount you can bet! But the amount has been known to be in the upper thousands, so you never know when your luck will be in.
A Class of Magic All Its Own
Magic Hot from Wazdan is a good game, albeit not a very enthralling one - it isn’t catering to the masses, but is more of a niche activity or at best a filler title while you find a game better suited to you.
It’s fun regardless of your overall feelings about its limited variance and deflated jackpot, and that is the main thing.
