Magic Lamp Slot Machine
Who of us hasn’t dreamt of walking along and accidently hitting a bottle that is actually a magic lamp? A genie appears and you are granted 3 wishes? With this WorldMatch game there’s more of a storyline. Could you wish for a better slot machine game?
Arabian Sights
Before you get to the main game, you’re given a sneak peek through the very short intro video. It gives the vibe of Arabian Nights with the sandy dunes and dome style houses, before the name of the game appears with a muscular genie and is then gone in a puff of smoke. You’re already in a mysterious world.
You don’t even have to be playing for the funky exotic drumbeat to begin. These sounds are given an extras dimension by continuing even when the slot game music plays. In case you tire of it, it is easy to mute the background sounds.
And if the audio doesn’t grab you the icons certainly will. With the HD graphics, the attention to detail really stands out and it does help with the theme of the game. There are 9 main icons, with the magic lamp unsurprisingly top. At 2,000 credits for 5 of them, you’ll be desperate to find them. Other cool symbols include a treasure chest, magic carpet, two crossed scimitars and an emerald ring. Even the least valuable symbol, a cauldron, is neatly designed. Plenty of thought has gone into these icons.
The background imagery also impresses. The pots are of the era, there are open tents and candlelights, and there’s a night-time setting. The five reels and 3 columns are made into the shape of a wooden building, and the grey fading effect across the screen when the game is on pause works well.
It’s a Kind of Magic
The game has the traditional navigation traits from WorldMatch in that playing the game and changing the settings are easy to do. The 25-line game can be played at 1, 5, 10, 15 and 25, with the actual lines showing up on the screen when you change them.
There are also 8 betting options of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 or 200 credits, though if you’re feeling the magic power, you can go straight to Max Bet and 200 credits. These credits are only in cents and Euros. If you want to take it easy you can use Autoplay that has 7 different options, ranging from 5 to 1,000 spins.
Winnings are left to right, with the highest being paid. If you succeed on multiple lines, these are added. These chances improve with the Wildcard symbol that is labelled Wild in green letters with a male gypsy behind it. It replaces everything except Free Spin, the Bonus Game and the Scatter. Winnings multiplies your score relevant to the value of the icon.
You’ll find the diagrams for the 25 winning lines on the paytable page, along with the worth of each simple and explanations of the bonuses. The rules are under the ‘?’ symbol.
Spellbinding Extras
The funky red Free Spin signs really are valuable here. If you get 5 of them you receive 20 free spins, 4 is worth 15 and 3 gets you 12. All scores are played at the same betting line and credits as originally, with scores being doubled. This sign, which doubles up as the Scatter symbol, wins specific credits if you get 2, 3, 4 or 5.
Our favourite muscular genie is back with extra goodness if you get at least 3 of them in any position. You are then taken for a magic Bonus Game where you have to pick 1 of the 6 bottles. If you strike it lucky you get a mystery credit bonus. You only get one at a time so you’ll want to make it count.
The rest of the game has useful perks too. As well as everything being easy to find and well explained, you can also increase the game speed to Fast Play, share your winning screen scores on social media and use keyboard shortcuts. Apart from making it quicker to play the game, these shortcuts mean you can change some of the other settings, including editing your balance and accessing your private cashier.
Magic Effort
There’s clearly been a lot of thought put into this game, both on the gameplay side as with all the additional extras. That attention to detail really does elevate this game beyond a fun game with solid bonuses. The credit winnings might not be enough to make you believe in magic, but Magic Lamp will surely rub most people up the right way.
